Keys!

In December, I lost my car keys. Kale loves to play with them, so I was sure that he took them and hid them somewhere. I looked under beds, in toy boxes, in the couch cushions, under the couch, in the trash, in kitchen drawers, but no keys!! I asked Kale what did you do with mommies keys? He would saw "keys" and walk to the toy box and get the plastic keys out. I thought that once I put away all of the Christmas stuff, that I would find them...NOPE!! Once Devin tore the house apart to put the new floor down, and didn't find them, I thought for sure that Kale had put them in the trash, and I didn't see them. But today, we were in the garage getting in the car to go to Home Depot, and Kale walked over to his big plastic car which is being stored for the winter....he says "dad, car, car" Dev, walks over to the car to move it, and the trunk falls open and out falls my keys!! I figure that when we still had the car in the house for him to play with he put them in that trunk. I had Dev move it to the garage, when I put out the Christmas decorations. YEA... I don't have to buy a new set!!

Notty Boy!

I was at Walmart on Monday getting groceries and a few other things. Kale thinks that he needs to walk instead of ride in the cart. I told him that he could walk if he held onto the cart, but if he was notty, that he had to get in the cart. We were almost done with our shopping trip and Kale started to run away. I went to pick him up, and he lays down and starts to kick and scream. Me being such a good mom, tells him that the can cry, and I stand there and watch him. I had one mother look at me and say, "I know just what it is like!" another mom, looked at me and walk away. Finally when he was done, I pick him up (crying again) and put him in the cart. He screamed 'NO Mom" until he saw the bag of Cheetoes. Sorry Kale notty boys don't get Cheetoes. Finally after we got check out and were starting to walk to the car, he decided that he was done crying and that maybe I wasn't the meanest mom ever!

California Again!

It was my sister Janae's 40th birthday on the 13th of January. My brother in law Ken, wanted to do something big and cool for her birthday. He decided that he was going to take her to Disneyland (our family are Disneyland freaks!) He wanted this to be a surprise, so after plotting and the help of Shelisa (oldest daughter & my neice), he had a plan. He called and asked if I would come out to be with the girls while they went. I said sure, I would never miss out on a chance to go to California to see the girls. Shelisa packed up a bag from my sister, and Ken took her to "lunch" . She was totally surprised! How awesome is Ken!!

On the plane Kale was so cute, he sat in the seat and started to put on his seat belt. He looked out the window and thought that taking off was great, but that landing wasn't so great. We had a fun time with the girls, even though the trip was short!!

The weather was great, while we were there. We made a trip to the park, and Kale played in the back yard a lot.

My sister also has a sweet bathroom with a giant tub. We gave Kale a "swim" in the tub one night, he thought that he was pretty hot stuff!!

The Floor!

Devin & I have been wanting to rip up the carpet in our family room and replace it with laminate floors. On Monday and Tuesday, Devin with the help of a friend and my dad, busted out the tile in front of the door and ripped the carpet and replaced it with laminate from Lowes. I LOVE IT!! I think that it looks great! I am so glad that Devin took the time to do the job. Thanks Dev, Love you!

It's BACK!!

January has come upon us and thus another season of the BEST reality show there is..... American Idol!

For those who don't know, I am an American Idol Junkie!! I love this show. I can't get enough of it. I have the DVR preset so that we (meaning Dev & I, He is only recently become one of the Idol watchers.) won't miss a single episond. New Years!

Liz: What are you going to do for New Years?

Dev: I don't know we are losers and don't have any friends to hang out with!

Liz: So I guess we will stay home and be losers!

Dev: We should go to California to see Janae and Ken!

Liz: Are you serious?

Dev: Call them and see what they are doing.

Liz: Calling the Parkin's Ken answers...you are going to make Janae late for church! I just want to see if we can come to your house today. Sure, but we have some friends coming on Friday, so you can only stay until then.

Liz: They said sure, are we going, should we go?

Dev: I have a few things I need to do over at Comcast and then we can pack up and go.

Liz: I can't believe that we are just up and going to California, how cool are we now!!

We went as far as "Winnacaca" the first night and stayed in the "Super great Super "!! Kale woke up at 5:00 am, so we just got up and got ready and headed on our way.

We got to Corcord at about noon. Kayla & Alyssa (nieces) didn't know we were coming, so it was a surprise to them when we came in the front door. We always have fun when we go there, plus Kayla & Alyssa play with Kale all the time, so all I have to do is make sure he is fed and change his butt!!

We went into San Francisco on New years Day! We went to the wharf for lunch, walk around and to see the walruses! As we were walking we ran into the "bushman." If you have ever been to the wharf, you might have come in counter with the "bushman" if not, he is this black man that sits behind tree branches that he has cut off of some tree somewhere, and when people walk by and aren't paying attention to want is around them, the "bushman" jumps out for behind the "bush" and scares them. Dumb you my say, well, this guy rakes in the cash!! We watched him for about 10 minutes, we gave him $3.00 and several other people put money in his bucket.

We ended up coming home on Saturday instead of Friday because their friends didn't come, and it was snowing in Tahoe, so we could get pass there. We had a great trip to Concord! We are so glad that we went.

Christmas!

We went to Leamington for Christmas this year. We had a great time, and Santa was very genrous this year. Dev, Kale and I must have been very good, even though we had to make a call to Santa on the 23rd because Kale wasn't being very nice. It snow a lot on Christmas day, so we took Kale for a little sleigh ride. I buddled him up in his boots, snow pants (from Grandma P.) gloves and hat. He thought it was great for about 20 minutes, until he couldn't feel his face any more!
